Things started out a little rough in South Dakota with all the rain, snow, and fog. We ended up cancelling the first weekend hunt due to no birds. They did, however, arrive in mass on Saturday afternoon, the 13th.
Since then, we've had some pretty good days with a high of 41 and some days that weren't so great. We have also killed 3 banded birds so far.
The last couple days have been sunny and warm and the majority of the snow in the Central and Northern part of the state is gone. We're starting to see some flocks of juvies arrive and I expect more to arrive in the next few days.
We still have a couple of openings the first weekend in April.
