About The Guide
 Hi, my name is Steve Lee, owner and head guide at Lone Drake. I have spent most of the last 17 years of my life chasing ducks and geese from one end of the country to the other. The rest I just wasted. That basically sums it up for me. I live, breathe, eat, and dream about waterfowl. Especially greenheads and snow geese. If I could bottle up and sell my “addiction”, I’d be rich. Or in jail I guess. Needless to say, I am very passionate about duck and goose hunting. I still remember the first duck I killed. I was 10 at the time, and had an H&R Single Shot 20 gauge. I snuck up on a small pond and saw a pair of mallards sitting there. I nailed the drake and waded out into chest deep water in my underwear to retrieve it. I probably carried that duck around for two days.
As a youth, I was always hunting, fishing, or trapping. I caught, or killed, anything that could fly or swim. My career plan was to become a professional trapper. At 16, I was taking off of school and running a long trap line for two weeks straight. Then, every night and weekend until the season closed. But, then the fur market crashed and I had to give up my dream of becoming a professional trapper. I put my hunting and fishing on the back burner for a few years in college, playing football, chasing women, and a couple of years as an amateur boxer. Once I got all that out of my system, waterfowling has been my way of life. If I’m not
hunting ducks or geese, I am thinking and devising ways to kill more of them.
My goal as owner of Lone Drake Waterfowl Outfitters is to provide the hunt of a lifetime for each and every person we hunt with. I want your experience to be remembered forever. Sure, some days will be slower than hoped for, but that’s how hunting wild birds goes. I have hunted snow geese since the USFWS allowed the spring season.
