Just when you think you've seen it all, Mother Nature really
throws a curve at us. When I drove down across NE Arkansas,
everything was covered in ice, power lines and transformers
were laying on the roads, telephone poles snapped in two by
the thousands, and it was virtually impossible to get gas
because no one had power. Luckily the sun came out over the
weekend and melted all the ice and the warm Southerly breeze
brought the geese with it. We've had some excellent hunts,
killing between 30 and 90 geese per day. This upcoming week
looks to be very promising as they're forecasting warmer weather
which should bring more geese into the area. It sure is great
to be hunting again. We still have some weekday openings the
latter part of February and mid-March for South Dakota.
