Its been a while since I last posted. It has been a very busy summer. I was also waiting for Arkansas Game and Fish to set the hunting seasons. The did throw a wrench into the Snow goose conservation season as they have the season closed on Feb 5th and 6th(for the youth waterfowl hunt) Typically that's a great weekend to kill a bunch of snows...but not this year I guess.

I spent a great deal of time, money and energy trying to develop a productive duck spot on our property this summer. I had more than my share of breakdowns and setbacks. Plus....a few mistakes along the way. Nothing says fun like a Bobcat buried in 3 ft. of mud that 150yds away from solid ground. However...I have always wanted to have my own place to develop for ducks and I enjoy it very much. So much so that my tournament fishing has suffered big time. Pre-fishing is very important...and when you don't do it....its shows in the small bag of bass you bring to the weigh in.

One other change that I have decided on is to work as a sub-contractor for my previous employer(Fireside Hearth and Home) from Nov. 15th to Jan 1st. This change will not allow me to guide/hunt the last two weeks of Nov, but it does give me an opportunity for a guaranteed paycheck.

I still have a couple of weekends open for MN duck hunts. The weekend of Oct 9th, 10th and Nov. 6th and 7 are still open. I am waiting on some deposits so there is a possibility some other weekend days will be open. I will post up if that happens.

Duck season is just around the corner and I can't wait.
